Leila Trowbridge and Susannah Hale (Forterra) met to exchange information with Mark Schorn (North Kitsap Trails Association & Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance--West Sound), Brian Kilpatrick (EMBA--West Sound), and me (Kitsap Audubon Society & NKTA) as part of developing an approach to funding purchase from Pope Resources of this 3,300 acre block of land serving as natural watershed with habitat and trails. NKTA, KAS, & EMBA-WS have been among a large number or organizations and individuals participating in the Kitsap Forest and Bay Coalition. The Kitsap Forest and Bay Project has been working over a period years to bring into public open space the seven thousand acres being divested by Pope Resources in North Kitsap.
